GAME RULES

National Federation High School rules will be in play with the following exceptions.

Tournament Rules

  1. All games for 7th grade and up will consist of (2) 18-minute halves with running clock. All other divisions will be (2) 16-minute halves with a running clock.

  2. The clock will stop on dead ball whistle in the last 2 minutes of the second half if the score is within 10 or fewer points.

  3. 10-second backcourt violation in effect for all divisions.

  4. 5-second count when a player is closely guarded in the half court.

  5. When a team reaches 10 team fouls for the half, the other team will shoot double bonus.

  6. Teams will receive (3) full timeouts per game, (1) additional for OT. Timeouts unused do not carry over.

  7. Individual players foul out if they receive (6) fouls.

  8. Each game will have a minimum 3 minutes warm-up. Halftime is 2 minutes.

  9. OT will be 2 minutes with stop clock. If there is a 3rd OT, it will be decided by sudden death.

  10. No pressing when up by 20 points or more in 6th grade and under.

  11. Home team provides game ball.

  12. Tie-breaking procedures for pool play (4 parts in order of operation):
    a. Head to head (skip this step if 3-way tie exists)
    b. Point differential between common opponents
    c. Point differential
    d. Points allowed

  13. Rules that are not listed are at the discretion of the tournament director.


PLEASE NOTE: For scoreboard purposes the team in light colored jerseys will be the home team and will sit to the right of the scorer’s table (when facing the court). On the game schedule, the team listed first is home team and will wear light colored jerseys. In bracket play, the top team is home and will light colored jerseys. Each team is responsible for their own jerseys...bring 2 different colored jerseys or reversible 2-colored jerseys with you to each game. Each team must provide their own warm-up balls. The home team provides the game ball and the home team will be the official scorer. The visiting team will provide the clock keeper.
