GAME RULES

Time Rules

  • 3rd-4th-5th-6th Grade will play 7-minute quarters, Half time—3 minutes

  • 7th-8th-9th-10th-11th Grade will play 8-minute quarters, Half time—3 minutes

  • Minimum of 5-minute warm-up between games.

  • Clock runs but stops on free throws and time outs and injuries only.

  • Time outs: (3) 30 sec. per game.

  • Overtime:1st: 3 minutes, 2nd: 2 minutes, 3rd: SUDDEN DEATH.   Each team gets an additional time out in each overtime.

Closely Guarded/Held Ball

  • 10 second backcourt violation in events that do not have a shot clock.

  • 5 second violation-Held Ball Only and Closely Guarded.

  • March thru August - NCAA Rules, September thru February, High School Rules.

Fouls

  • Free Throws: Double bonus on 5th team foul per quarter.

  • Players are allowed 6 personal fouls.

Game Personnel

  • Team listed first or on top of the bracket is the home team (light jerseys) and will sit to the left of the score table when facing the court. Home team provides a game ball. Home team will keep the clock.

  • Team listed second is the visiting team and will sit to the right of the score table when facing the court. 

TOURNAMENT RULES

  • The tournament director has the right to forfeit a game if a team does not have its starting five ready to play at the scheduled tip off time.

Age and Grade Rules

9th-10-11th-12th Grade Base Only

Team 8th Grade and below are Grade Based and Year Born Based. 

(EX: Grade 8th or born in 2030. )

                  Grade 1st or born in 2037                        Grade 2nd or born in 2036

                  Grade 3rd or born in 2035                        Grade 4th or born in 2034

                  Grade 5th or born in 2033                        Grade 6th or born in 2032

                  Grade 7th or born in 2031                        Grade 8th or born in 2030
